Possible New World Record -
Ineligible
Roger Jarvis, whose picture has been passed around the
internet, shot a buck in that has apparently been scored at 319" and was
reported as being a Possible World Record for the Boone & Crocket Club.
However, according to Boone & Crockett's website the Missouri Department
of Conservation released information that this buck was purchased from a
breeder, and released in a high fenced enclosure.
Trophies taken within escape proof enclosures are not eligible to be
listed in B&C records. The record currently belongs to Tony
Lovstuen of Monroe, Iowa for a 307 5/8-inch buck.
The overall world record is a non-typical buck found
in St. Louis County, Missouri in 1981. That buck scored 333 7/8 inches.
