Robert Stubbs submitted these pictures from a recent
duck hunt and told the Bragging Post, "It had been 30 years since I
went on a duck hunt. In 1978, a hunting buddy/ fellow worker and I made a
hunt on Tennessee Chute on a cold 17 degree morning. We were hunting in
17 feet of water and as we shot at a group of Mallards, the boat rolled
and turned over. We were in the water for approx two hours before another
group of hunters rescued us. I was a newly wed and figured I would never
see my wife in this world again.
When we got back to dry land, I promised the Good Lord that if I went duck
hunting again, the water would be shallow enough that my rear would be on
the bottom and my nose in the air. That is a promise I have kept!
My sons got to looking at my pictures of the good old days of the
Mississippi Delta and took up Duck Hunting. On Saturday Jan 10th, I went
with them. Didn't harvest a limit of birds, but had a great time with two
of my sons."
