Daniel Peters is 8
years old and lives in Lincoln County, MS. He is the son of Don & Maria
Peters and the Grandson of the Rev. Bendon Ginn, Pastor at Philadelphia
Baptist Church in Caseyville. Daniel killed his first deer, a large doe,
while hunting with his mom and dad on private property just south of
Highway 84 in Lincoln County, MS. Daniel wants to say thanks to the Hoffs
for letting him hunt on their property.
Daniel's dad told The
Bragging Post, "We were hunting from a ground blind on a food plot planted
on a gas line that runs through the property. This was opening afternoon
of the youth season. November 15, 2008. We got in the blind around 4:00
PM. About 4:45 PM a group of 7 does and yearlings appeared and started
feeding. We had set up a bench and shooting rest in the blind to assist
Daniel with his shot. He was shooting his dad’s 25-06 with a 100 gr nosler
ballistic tip. These were hand loads he helped his dad assemble the week
before. When the deer appeared we watched for a while and decided which
doe he wanted to harvest. We determined which was the largest of the bunch
and then Daniel adjusted his rest and made the shot. Although the shot was
a bit far back the deer didn’t go very far. Daniel is extremely proud as
this was his first deer. It was a wonderful afternoon with both mom and
dad present to experience a memory that will last a lifetime."
CONGRATULATIONS DANIEL!!!
