Pedro Mitchell of Team Hardwoods harvested these two nice bucks to start off his season. On 12/17/07, the 8 point, was taken while feeding in a Tecomate Monster Mix plot with a T/C Encore 300 Win Mag. The deer came into the plot at approx 225 yards just at day break and was initially passed off as a doe until enough light was present that he could see the buck’s antlers with his binoculars. He set the cross hairs, fired and the deer ran 50 yards before piling up. The buck was 18 3/4” wide and weighed 187lbs.

The 6 point was jumped by Hardwoods team member, Kenny Thompson, as he was hanging a tree climber. The deer was on the move when he came across Pedro’s stand. One shot from Encore at approx 90 yards put the deer down in his tracks. Although only a six point the buck was aged at 4 ½ yrs. old, weight 217 lbs. and harvested on 12/15/07.
