Matthew Lundine just built a new home near Slayden, MS and moved in about a month ago.  His uncle owns the land behind him and gave Matthew permission to shoot deer in the area directly behind his new house.  His back yard is basically a 20+ acre field backed with hardwoods.

His brother-in-law, Heath Brown, told the following story:

Per Matthew, he arrived home after work Monday evening about 30 minutes before night fall.  As he was unloading his truck , he noticed a deer across the field.  Being a deer hunter during deer season, he went inside, grabbed a pair of binoculars, and looked through his living room window. Across his back porch, back yard, and nearly across the depth of the field, he saw antlers above the deer's ears. Wasting no time, he retrieved his rifle, opened the back door, stepped outside, and took a prop on his gas grill. Once he scoped the buck, he fired only to miss.

Yep, he missed.  But with some luck, the deer did not run only to repositioned with its rear end facing the house. With the buck now looking down its back toward Matthew, he took a second shot and the deer seemed to have fell out of sight.  Evidently there is a small ridge and he could not see the deer.  Looking and listening, Matthew thought he could hear the deer running off through the woods.  Like most excited hunters, he quickly started across the field only to see the deer was actually down.  As he approached the fallen buck, Matthew called his father-in-law in excitement saying "you are not going to believe this."

The reason why? He started counting points!!!

As you look at the pictures, here are the details to
remember:
25 points (possible 26)
18 inches inside spread
5 1/4 bases
27 inch left main
25 1/2 inch right main
