Arny Gollott, III wanted to share some recent success pictures from the MS Delta.  Arny told the Bragging Post the following about these trophies, "My father, Arny Gollott Jr., shot the wide 8 point buck that we had allowed to age for the last 4 years, we believe he was 6 1/2 years old at the time of harvest and he weighed in at 267#, live weight!  He was easy to track year to year as he had only a stub for a tail with NO hair on it.  The deer's rack was 24" across on the inside!  The deer was taken during the first gun season of 2007.

We had an especially exciting weekend recently, it unfolded like this...

I am pictured with a Boar that weighed in at 260# and had 4" tusks.  The Boar was shot Dec 15 2007 between the eyes at 150 yards with a .300 Win Mag....needless to say it dropped in its tracks.

The very next day, Dec 16, my uncle, Ben Gollott pictured with me kneeling with our bucks, shot a 7 point that scored 136 gross B&C with a 22 1/2" inside spread!  The giant seven point deer was 255# and estimated to be 6 1/2 years old.  This deer was shot about 10 yards from where the Boar was killed the previous day!

The day after that, Dec 17 2007, I shot this scorable 15 pointer from the same stand and perhaps 150 yards from where the Boar and 7 pointer had been shot!

The 15 point buck was aged at 4 1/2 years old and weighed 210#.  Gross B&C score was 186 5/8 inches.  This is UNOFFICIAL but was done carefully and exactly as B&C instructions outline.  Brow tines are both about 9", one being split 3 ways at the top.  The deer received nearly 50" of circumference measurements!  Inside spread was only 15 1/2"!
The deer had over 20" of abnormal points!  Main beams were both around 22".  The deer was taken with the same .300 Win Mag at about 130 yards.

I am very fortunate to be able to hunt the MS Delta. These fine animals were taken near Greenville, MS. on private land that is intensely managed.  We work year round on our land with one of us always there to oversee the place.  Arny Jr., Ben, and my other uncle Dale Gollott, are the co-owners and they have each put in blood, sweat, and tears to purchase and develop the property.  It is a family project including dads, cousins, brothers, and uncles and we have all enjoyed the hunting and even the work that is done there.  I am very grateful to each of them for allowing me to hunt their property and make memories that last forever."

Below is a still frame photo from Arny's video camera about 2 seconds before he shot the 15 point buck.  Wow!!
