Pedro Mitchell started the New Year off right with this 11 point buck taken on family property in Hinds county on New Years Day.  The deer was approximately 2 minutes following behind two does when he presented a perfect 30 yard broad side shot.  The deer weighed 227 lbs.  His impressive rack green scored at 133 5/8" with a broken G3.  Both bases were 5" plus and had good mass throughout both 21" plus main beams.  The deer would have been in the 140 class if he hadn't broken the right G3 as the left was 10 1/2".  Pedro stated in a previous post (click here to view) of an 8 point taken earlier in the season which had both brow tines broken and he figured that a bigger deer was in the area.  With the broken G3 on this big buck, well you guessed it,  he will be back in the stand till the season ends.  Also pictured is Pedro's Dad Clifton who opts for celebrating in lieu of hunting.
