Landon Lemonis, a 7th
grader at Northwest Rankin Middle School, killed this 215 lb., 9 pt. with a
17-1/2” inside spread, and 5-1/4” bases on December 22, 2006 in Madison
County. This was the first afternoon Landon sat on a stand alone. Funny
thing is, his older brother, when he was 12, killed a 148” deer the first
day he hunted alone. Same age, both had passed Hunters Education the summer
before, both used the same gun, and they both lost the clip to the rifle in
the excitement afterwards. (Logan’s deer is posted in the 2003-4 deer
photos page 3 which can be view by clicking
here.)
