Bubba Deroche, from Houma, La. killed this buck on Christmas Day. Bubba was able to quietly slip up behind this deer in a cane thicket. Using a 12guage shotgun with #1 buckshot, he shot this tough buck 3 times before he jumped into a nearby creek. Fearing that he was going to loose his prize as the buck died and sank in the creek, Bubba took a second to remove his coat and wallet and dove in to neck deep water to rescue his deer.

He was surprised at what he had killed as he got him onto the bank. What he had been able to move well in the water, became extremely difficult to pull once he was on land. He had a perfect 6 pt. rack with fairly good mass and weighed 210 pounds. This deer was killed in eastern Madison County, MS.
