Tony Fimiano of Wetumpka, AL killed this deer on
November 4, 2004, in Montgomery County Alabama. He was hunting a small
green field in a bamboo thicket along the edge of a creek. A bobcat came
in around 3:30 pm. About 30 minutes after the bobcat left, a doe and a
yearling came in and began feeding. Tony was watching them, when he
caught movement out of the corner of his eye. He turned and saw this
buck. When the buck reached the point where the bobcat was, he caught
wind of the bobcat and ran straight to Tony. The buck stopped behind a
tree and Tony drew his bow back, staying behind the tree long enough for
Tony to start shaking due to the draw weight. As he started to let off
the draw, the buck stepped from behind the tree. Straining to get the bow
back from 1/2 draw, Tone shot him at about 17 steps. The shot was further
back than what Tony preferred, so he gave him 2 hours. He found the deer
about 60 yards from the shot. This 185 lb. buck is a 10 point ( main frame
8 point with an extra tine and a kicker on the right beam) and a 17"
inside spread. This is Tony's best buck to date with either a bow or a
rifle.
