11 point, 19 1/2" outside spread, 185 lbs
Matt Smith set up on this buck while he was in
his bed.
Hoping that he was in this bedding spot, Matt climbed to about 30 ft. in
his climber and began scanning the thicket with his binoculars. Not
seeing any deer, Matt began grunting hoping that the buck would react to
the grunts and stand up. To Matt's surprise, the buck stood up from his
bed just 60 yards away. It took one shot in the neck with his 30.06..
Matt says, "I am very fortunate to have taken this deer and to have hunted
16 yrs. to get him. Hallelujah!!"
