Grant Whatley took this 8 point December 27, 2004, at a hunting club in Jefferson County. This buck had a 16 1/2" inside spread, 11" to 12" tines and 4 1/2" bases.

This is only the 2nd deer Grant has ever taken. The first was a 6 point at the same club the year before.

He killed this 8 point with only one day to hunt, due to his dad's, SFC Aubrey S. Whatley, deployment to Iraq.  Grant's dad states, " I think he is hooked!"
